Founded in 1982, the Filipino American National Historical Society (FANHS) is a community-based organization that aims to preserve, document, and present Filipino American history while supporting scholarly research and artistic works that reflect a rich cultural heritage.
Also known as Chapter One, the Filipino American National Historical Society Oregon Chapter was organized on August 10, 1988.
Our Mission is to Promote Understanding, Education, Enlightenment, Appreciation and Enrichment through the Identification, Gathering, Preservation and Dissemination of the History and Culture of Filipino Americans in the United States.
The national office and archives are located in Seattle,WA and operate year-round to lend expertise and support to twenty-seven chapters across the United States. It is also recognized as the primary informational resource on Filipino Americans.
FANHS-Oregon is a nonprofit, tax-exempt organization operating under the Filipino American National Historical Society.
